Bring your "Howdy's" here!

Good Friday Morning!!

Rachel--The coop looks so cool and cozy! The chicks should all be very happy there for a long time! (until you add on!)

PRC--This is about the only thread I go to anymore too. Just stay here with us and we will try to keep you under control!

Bluemoon--We are expecting wicked thunderstorms today/tonight too.

So, I have some bad news, they put a chance of showers/thunderstorms in the forecast for tomorrow's show, but I am staying optimistic. And can I pause a moment to rant (going to anyway). IF YOU enter a singing competition, why do you think it is the responsibility of the radio station/coordinator to help you find your background music?? I have had 2 calls, one this morning (hello, the show is tomorrow) frantically trying to find music.

I went out to feed the birds yesterday. With the boys gone, it is quite the chore. Anyway, the darned BO rooster attacked me again! This is the second time it has happened. He had me cornered (again) and actually pecked the heck out of the back of my legs! The first time he didn't actually get me, but wanted to really badly. I feel bad because he was one of the tamest of the flock when he was younger, but after the oldest roo passed, he decided he was king of the coop. Son is really attached to him, so I don't know what we are gonna do.

On a positive note, I had good news yesterday. You guys probably don't know what I am talking about, but it is a big deal. As you know, son is at boy scout camp and a member of the mic-o-say tribe there. His troop was picked to build the tapping fire and spent many hours and days gathering all the wood and stuff they needed to build it and spent the week down there building it. It is like 20 ft high and 16 ft at the base. Colton called me yesterday and asked if I was coming down. Told him I wasn't planning on it, then told me he was chosen to light the fire! So, Destiny and I drove the hour and a half to see it and got home about 1 am. I (again) overslept for work, but that's okay because boss and his sons were big in the scouts/tribe thing and he was the one to insist that we leave work early to do chores and get down there.

Glad you could join us! I have been wondering about your puppy. Did you end up naming her Bella, and how is she doing?

I had to go back a few pages, but just realized writer of words posted

I'll keep my fingers crossed that all goes well with the show!

Congrats to your son, and the lighting of fire

As for the BO rooster, either he changes his evil ways or he goes to the big frying pan in the sky. That's how it works at my house anyway

I threatened our pyscho BO (Miss Dotty) with the frying pan, and for whatever reason she has calmed down some....She still pushes around the other chickens a little, but not nearly as bad as before.

Mochelle that is wonderful that your son got to light the fire and you actually got the chance to see it!! Hopefully with it being a CHANCE of rain, it will overlook your show!! UGH I will keep my fingers crossed!

How can you expect to go sing without your own back up music!!?? Dern with it being tomorrow they better get on the ball!

As far as that roo..... I have a Cochin roo that tried that crap and sadly I had to kick him, not hard, but more like a push across the yard! He stopped! I also read that someone would get the rooster and hold it down and ruffle his back. Like showing that you are the top rooster not him. They said that worked for a while and then had to do it again once in a while. Mine would have to sneak up on me to get me, because my first reaction would be a swift kick. I have only had two roos try that and they finally learned who the top roo was!!

And it looks like we got some wicked stuff coming!

As for Mr. Kanga, I threatened him the first time but in the end, it will be son's decision.

It is only a 30% chance, so I am trying to be optimistic and we do have a backup plan, but it will be a lot more work to re-set up if we have to move it and it will cost us a bit more money to rent the place, but I try not to stress about it as much as I used to. Usually, at the last minute, I spend all my time answering stupid questions even though I go through all the trouble of sending out a nice letter explaining absolutely they need to know. It doesn't help that I still have the stupid secretary up front trying to "assist" me.

I have kicked at the roo, yesterday I took a stick to him. I am still attached to him even though he is being a buggar, but I don't even like to go out there anymore. I am surprised the others haven't formed a mutiny against him since I don't go in and treat as often because of him!

Thank you for the suggestions! I am big and brave outside of the coop, but when I get in here and he corners me, I panic like a school girl! I need to just go in there and show him who is truly boss!
