Bring your "Howdy's" here!

It states in the rules that she cannot compete in the local contest because it is sponsored and put on by us. The state competition brings in winners from stations all over the area. She won at a different station, earning the right to compete here, but she is still a relative of an employee and to me that is conflict of interest. When the folks from Nashville fly in I can see Rochelle following them around the station and sucking up to them because her little girl (she is 21 btw) is in the show. She even told me yesterday "Chelsey just once wants to have the hometown advantage." Now, our winner is also from here and will compete, but he is in no way connected to the station. Therefore, it is a whole different story for him in my opinion. The fact that she knew before she entered her that she couldn't compete here, did it anyway and then wanted to bend the rules, again whined until they were bent really burns me up. And the boss backing it, just puts me over the edge. I have already put many hours into this show (along with the local) to make it a great success, but I am willing to give it up for what I believe in.

On a side note, it is almost noon and already 93 degrees here today. Tomorrow is supposed to be hotter. Son called from camp last night and said he thought it got up to 102 yesterday. He is at Lake of the Ozarks, so I am sure that water is really amplifying it!

Well, If she doesn't win then it won't matter much. If she does, and there are some sore losers, then it will matter. In that case, I would artfully hand over all complaints to the boss, and say... I told ya. Not much else you can do beyond that. I wish you the best of luck! It's a tricky situation

Awww that sucks Michelle! I would hand it over and let the ones "making" the rules handle it. Because you know that if anything comes up, you will be the one the complaints are sent to. Any contest I have ever seen has rules against family members joining. You know they even knew before they asked you, because why would they even have to ask if you did not already know about contest rules nationwide!!?? Hope that made sense! LOL it did to me! I hope things work out for you! I know what it's like when they are your friend, but you have to do what is best for you. They are!!

I understand and that is exactly my point! I would be embarrassed to ask for special rules for my daughter! But that is just the way I was raised. Not everything was handed to me.

It is now 2pm and it is now 97 degrees!
