Brinsea Ecoglow chick brooder - one BIG flaw!

My 4 chicks are 5 weeks old and are still going under it at night. I have it raised to the highest level now and they have plenty of room. Some nights when I check on them, they will all be laying with only their little butts under it. I love the Ecoglo heater.....it's much safer than the lamp and they don't have a light on them all the time :)

thanks everyone for all this info- really seems a no brainer to buy this.

Does anyone know how much the ecoglow 20 weighs? I ask because I think I am going to buy one in the UK when I go there next month and bring it back in my suitcase if it isn't too heavy. (Way cheaper than buying one from Canada!)
thank you for any replies!

It comes in a flat box, so you could lay it in a suitcase and then pack on top, or reverse that (so security doesn't tear through your whole bag to figure out what you have).

Or better yet, don't pack the box at all. It will take up less space that way and less weight!

I would say less than a pound too, don't worry

Just an update. I managed to bring back 2 ecoglows (one in my hand luggage!) and gave one to a friend. They are fantastic, such a simple concept and so effective. Next best thing to a broody! I have 2 meat chicks and a BCM under 1 today, and love listening to the little trills coming out from under it
