I’m writing this for a friend who is starting to sustain her own flock! She has recently wanted more birds in her flock, and was looking for incubators for hatching. She had asked me about some Brinsea models, but she liked the Mini II eco the best. I have looked around for reviews, but I didn’t get much advice on how good it was. If anyone has used this incubator before, i’d love to hear your experiences!

Has she said why she likes the Mini II eco? If she's just starting, I would suggest that she get something more automated.

she wanted something simple, and liked how hands on the incubator was. I might get her the semi-auto turner as an extra gift.

I have a Maxi which I think is the Eco version.

Personally I dislike it for several reasons and only bought it because it was second hand and very cheap and I wanted a backup inc. I've never had to use the temperature adjustment but I've read the mechanism is extremely fiddly. Humidity is also more difficult to control exactly - though I'll admit I'm spoilt with the digital humidity control in the Rcom I prefer to use. The dome shape means you can't open the incubator without losing a lot of heat and humidity (compared to incubators where the "walls" are attached to the base unit and there's a lid that just lifts off the top surface). The shape also makes it more difficult to remove hatched chicks without others escaping, or getting in the way when you replace the lid.

Lots of people seem to like the Brinsea Mini and other similar incubators though.
