haha You are one of them!

I am fighting the urge so badly. Just picture the day my next batch arrives...I'll be outside twirling with the box to sound of "I Can't Fight This Feelin' Anymore" in the background...like a commercial! lol Ok...so not really twirling, because that would be harmful to the eggies, but you get the picture! It would be an even better commercial if the Fall leaves we're gently floating to the ground around us, though... NO! I have to have something to look forward to in the Spring, right?

(Sending all kinds of enabling vibes your way and really hoping that DH hides mine from me really well!!!!)

But you have to test the bator and get used to it. SO these are practice eggs so that you will be a Brinsea expert in the spring when the really GOOD eggs are in the bator....
(test hatch is my favorite phrase when DH asks why I'm putting eggs in the bator)

haha Oh that's just too much!!! WHY DID WE BUY THIS THING IN SEPTEMBER!?!?! How terrible! I really want to cave in, but what will I do with a dozen chicks growing in the house for like 14 weeks!? There's no way we have room for them all...or containment. All I have are two right now, and I'm already concerned that keeping them in so long will be cruel.

Some of my favorite times were as I played with fuzzy peeps in front of a nice warm fire on snowy days....

Seriously, though, DH said I needed to stop hatching this year. So I am anxiously awaiting 1/1/11. You know what the problem is on 1/1/11? There are hardly any eggs due to the weather, and you hate to have them shipped, due to the weather.

For anyone still thinking of buying one of these they are still on sale for $100 off. Thank goodness because DH had not ordered mine as I thought he had. He got me a Little Giant and an auto turner for my birthday. I know his heart was in the right place but I had to tell him to take them back. He suggested using the Little Giant to see if I liked hatching eggs and he was still planning on ordering the Brinsea for Christmas. I couldn't justify opening the box knowing that it wasn't a very good incubator to try it out. I figured he would be better off taking it back. I felt bad turning down the gift but I couldn't see throwing away over $100 either. Love him to death but there is a reason I asked for the one that I asked for. I do some research on things like this before I ask for such an expensive gift. Poor man, he felt so bad.

Poor guy!

I wish my DH were willing to buy me an incubator.

He did buy me a dehydrator. I sent him the link for those giving feedback on Excaliburs. I was planning on getting a small one. He got me the big one after reading all the feedback. He's a good guy, even if doesn't wholeheartedly support my chicken addiction

Mine is a really sweet guy too and is totally supporting my chicken addiction.

His thought process was we lost one of our chickens to the dogs, he hadn't ordered the Brinsea yet so went to the local Cal Ranch and bought me the Little Giant and the auto turner so I could try hatching some eggs from our chickens (whenever they finally decide to lay). Like I said, his heart was in the right place, I felt really bad telling him to take it back. Love him to death even if he doesn't always get it right.
