BRINSEA OCTAGON ADVANCED FIRST HATCH!!!!!!!

I put 24 eggs in this time at 9:40 pm.

Olive eggers, Marans, and brown egg layers.
See if I can get a better hatch rate then 80% this time.
Due to hatch the 9th of April.
Will be happy to hear how your hatch went Linda in another week!

Today is hatch day, and at least 10 of the 22 little peepers are out and healthy. I went into lockdown one day early, and raised the humidity. I will see if this helps the last few to hatch. In previous hatches some of them have been sticky and too dry.

That's great!!!
I put 8 eggs in my styro just to see if its still worth it to use this spring, one was infertile so 7 left. And today is lockdown for my styro!
I candled my 24 eggs that are in my brinsea and they all had growing chicks inside! day 7.
I just bought a premier1 heat plate size small it should arrive tomorrow, very exciting to use that instead of a heat light.
My guineas just started laying which is also eggciting.
I hope all your chicks hatch.

21 healthy little chicks. Hooray! Of the 24, two were infertile and one was fully formed, did in the Shell. Pretty good hatch. Everybody else is healthy and strong. Now if I could just quit watching them and get to bed before midnight! They are so fragile when there's newborn and so cute.

Hooray for you!
My premier1 heat plate arrived and looks like a really nice product.
In my styrofoam incubator one chick has hatched! Two others have pips.

Very cool

I had one little guy with a pasty butt today oh my goodness when he finally pooped it must have been a full teaspoon. Thought I was going to lose him, just standing there in screeching after I cleaned him up, but in about a half an hour he pooped, started eating, drinking and looks fine now.

Hooray again!

The two that had pips yesterday hatched!
And another one pipped a hole.
Lucky Chicky that one was.

I had the eggs hatch in the egg carton but I forgot to trim the carton because the chicks had a little bit of trouble to get out of the egg but they did it!

Five from seven hatched in my styrofoam bator!
I candled the eggs in my brinsea and all looked good but two one looked infertile and the other one early death.
I just got two old gqf cabinet incubators from my Grandmother that were in her storage!
Hoping to use those too.
Could hatch lots of eggs with them!

Chicks love the premier1 heat plate and I do toooooo!

I moved the eggs to my styrofoam incubator one days ago, hoping wasn't a bad idea. I got the humidity to 72% temp 98.9* and I have two pips that look like there starting to zip!
I put 36 Guinea fowl eggs in my gqf cabinet and have 72 chicken eggs ready to go in but have to wait so the Guineas hatch at the same time.
I'm hearing peeping coming from my incubator as I type pretty exciting!
Happy hatching.

Sounds like spring is definitely happening at your place!

I am working to get my little 2 week olds outside with a light, because they are making us all crazy inside. They need ROOOOM!

Hooray for chicks!

:)
