Ive had this Brinsea Spot check for a couple of years but didnt use it with this latest hatch going on because the battery was dead. Ive ordered a new battery but the things I used to insert the thermometer into are also not usuable since they are dried up and old.
They are these short, jelly filled pool toys about 4 to 5 inches long that I used as a fake egg, and for the life of me, I cant remember what thier called.
I got the idea on here years ago when I got into hatching eggs. There is a thread on here that has a pic of one being used and I was going to pm the poster, but they havent been online since last August.

Its the blue thing in the corner with the thermometer inserted in it. So....my question is.....does anyone know what those are called and where can I find one?
