Hmm. Good question. I would think your typical Mini size, but she's 3, so it could be going down. I wanted a good back up bunny for Chai, but she never took, and Cas was being ridiculous lol.Oh yay!! That’s wonderful! Do you know her typical litter size?
That's great!Mopsy is due in just 3 days! She is nervous around people and has been acting somewhat aggressive, so I haven't felt her belly too much, but she is acting pretty preggo! No nest yet, but, honestly, that means nothing, lol, none of my pregnant does in the past (3) have pulled a nest in advance.
This is what I do: Under 6 months I would mix alfalfa & timothy (or orchard hay, whatever you plan to use when they get older). Under 6 months can have unlimited pellets. However, I still give them a limited amount to make sure they keep eating a healthy amount of hay. After 6 months, you switch to whatever hay you plan on using (no alfalfa unless end of pregnancy). I get square bales of mixed hay. I was using Timothy hay bales in the horse section from Tractor Supply but they are more expensive and there was a lot of waste because it fell through the cage easily. Then they get just a small handful (egg cup or 1/4 cup) of pellets once a day in the evenings. I give all ages the same brand and type of pellets. My rabbit hutch is almost done! I was wondering about food/hay/supplies I should get? Do junior rabbits and senior rabbits eat the same food, or i assumed, do they have different feed requirements?
Also get some nail clippers. We use crocks for water instead of bottles but many use bottles too. Toys like chewing sticks are good to keep their teeth in check, avoid the colored toys. We get non-treated or non-stained wicker baskets for our inside rabbit to chew on.My rabbit hutch is almost done! I was wondering about food/hay/supplies I should get? I think im getting 2 mini rex. The hutch I'm building is going to have 3 sections.( one extra)@Racoon lady you may have already said this and I missed it, but what kind of rabbit(s) are you getting and how many?
Are you looking for any certain colors? I love my mini rex pair.I think im getting 2 mini rex. The hutch I'm building is going to have 3 sections.( one extra)
Good idea! Don’t forget to post pics of your hutch. We haven’t decided if we are going to go ahead with the 6 hole hutch or just stick to a 3 hole. I like seeing others pics for ideas haha! I’d like to get mini Rex at some point if we ever get to the point where we can expand more. Can’t wait to see pics of your bunnies when you get them!I think im getting 2 mini rex.
