Oh my!!! @Barred Rock Mama they are the sweetest! And they all look so healthy.
Lots!Aw! Do you have pictures of him? That's so awesome that he free ranges! I had a Mini Plush Lop that free ranged with my flock for a couple weeks! How do you keep him from wandering? My buck had does that kept him nearby, and then I would lock him up at night to keep him safe![]()
Is there a reason you've chosen to have him free range?Lots!
He doesn’t wander since he’s attached to my chicken Elephant and we have a barn and food for him, I think it’s also cause this is where he was raised and he still really likes me despite him starting to avoid me
The pictures with him next to the fence is when he started bonding with Elephant my newest hen, I think he sleeps in my neighbors raspberry bush at night, the neighbors cat sleeps in our barn and doesn’t go after him but I think he scares him off, maybe not though, he used to be best friends with our cat when he lived inside, she would groom him.
The black and white bunny was his sister Sisu who we got rid of because we didn’t want to risk inbreeding so I handed her off to a breeder at a swap and meet View attachment 3300693View attachment 3300694View attachment 3300695View attachment 3300696View attachment 3300697View attachment 3300698View attachment 3300699View attachment 3300700View attachment 3300701View attachment 3300702View attachment 3300703View attachment 3300704View attachment 3300705View attachment 3300706View attachment 3300707
He hated being enclosed, he would keep getting out and chewing his way out of it when we fix the escape and whenever he couldn’t get out he just looked sad and he wasn’t getting all the foods he needed, such as leaves and grass since he was in our garden. He’s also very picky about what sticks he gets, so I just opened it up and let him choose for himself and I was lucky enough to have gotten a bunny that would stick around, and maybe once I get him a mate she’ll stick around too, if I do ever get the babies from them I plan on taking them to swap and meet since our neighborhood has plenty of wild rabbits but I don’t know how hard that’ll beIs there a reason you've chosen to have him free range?
You will need to find a doe that is larger then him. A Holland Lop will not work, he would kill it while breeding and the kits would be to big. Do you know how much he weighs? What breed is he? I might have a few doe suggestions! He’s about normal sized, cause of the dwarf half… his mom was a Flemish but she wasn’t a huge one, he’s a little smaller then our cat but she’s also tiny. You will need to find a doe that is larger then him. I’m not sure… he was bred at a stables that just had a bunch of wandering rabbits and one of her females ended up being a male, not very small, just a bit smaller then average sized@TinyRaptorDodos, what dwarf breed is he crossed with?
