The first time they were together was like 30 days ago today do very soon. I put them together 4 days in a row and on day 4 they just snuggled. I put her in a few other times to make sure and the just get snugglyWhen is your doe due?
Oh how exciting! Has she started building a nest already? The first time they were together was like 30 days ago today do very soon. I put them together 4 days in a row and on day 4 they just snuggled. I put her in a few other times to make sure and the just get snuggly
I put a nest box in with her and she has tidied it all up and made a little spot to chill. It's been cold off and on so I kinda wondered if she's wasn't just getting situated out of the wether and not necessarily getting ready for beebs.Oh how exciting! Has she started building a nest already?
That’s kind of what I wondered about Lilly too. No obvious nesting behavior.I put a nest box in with her and she has tidied it all up and made a little spot to chill. Definitely a nest! Keep in mind Mopsy made one tiny hole and didn't even pull a nest before having the kits. But she has experience with mothering so I let her do her thing. Mirabelle nests ALL the time, especially when she's faking it. Really just depends on the rabbit. I would be careful not to intervene at all, even if Lilly is a poor mother again. They are just so hard to keep alive. You can't hand feed them without them drowning. They really just need a bunny mum.I went out to check on her again and watched her for quite a while to see how she acted. She ate basically the entire time I was out there haha. She had changed her nest box again from the way I had moved the hay to the back. I had the hay lining the back and she has dug it out each time. So maybe that’s her making the beginning of her nest? She got in a couple times and would dig around and push the hay, but she was also eating the hay so who knows! I just desperately hope she doesn’t have them on the wire and she pulls some dang fur this time! Oh and doesn’t eat them too. Is that too much to ask? Hahaha

Yes, sadly I don’t plan on taking over if she fails to mother this time. Seems so sad to do but I’ll just let nature take its course. Since she’s interested in the nest box, I’m hopeful. I’m just going to check on her often and make sure she uses the nest box and doesn’t have them on the wire. If they are on the wire, I’ll attempt to put them in the box but if she doesn’t feed them then I’ll just let it be.Definitely a nest!
