If mosquitoes are out, and it has been warm, it could be fowl pox virus. Fowl pox is carried by mosquitoes and last about a month. It can affect the eyes making it hard to see food and water. There is a wet type that affects the inside of the beak and throat, and yellow material or plaques is common.

If there are no mosquitoes, it may be injury from pecking or fencing.

Can you answer some of the questions asked in posts 15 and 16, since that may help us help you?

Okay, in Texas, that probably is pos. That is what it looks like to me. Don’t disturb the scabs, since that can spread the pox virus. If scabs are near eyes, and causing problems, you can use Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment in the eyes. The scabs go away in about a month. If any seem terribly sick, look inside their beaks and throats for yellow material.
