This is the second chick I had to remove from its momma due to issues with the other chicks. This one however definitely has a broken leg it just dangles. It's in the upper part of its thigh, can it be fixed? Chick is able to stand on one foot only and eat and hop around. Someone please tell me how to fix, Thanks!

Here is a link to a previous BYC thread that may help. Good luck.
Thanks, I read that thread already and my chicks injury is very different it can't even move the toes or feel when I touch them. I just don't know of it's best to cull it or give it time to heal.

I looked on YouTube and found some videos about broken chicken legs, but I did not think they would apply to you either. It might be worth some of your time to check out YouTube anyway.

I don't have any personal experience with broken legs on chicks. If any of my birds get ill, I have decided to treat them as best I can by myself, but cull if necessary and focus my attention on the remaining healthy birds.

I have thank you. As I mentioned earlier I now have 2 chicks in a brooder. One I found yesterday being pecked by the other chicks. It was missing the tip of the toe and the upper thigh was being pecked no open wounds just bruising. This chick however was also missing a toe and was severely pecked it had an inner wound and outer wound both open on the upper thigh. So I am not completely sure if it's broken or just severely wounded. I was gone for 3 hours and upon my return the chick was huddled up in a corner. I bandaged and splint it I will check in a few days if its healed. I wasn't sure if I should put any ointment on the wounds so I just cleaned them with saline and wrapped it. The chick did eat, but hasn't had any water yet.

Maybe give it some water via an eye dropper/ syringe? Poor baby! Hang in there!

Upper leg fractures can be hard to heal because of the difficulty of splinting in that area. For disinfecting the wound, you may use betadine, Vetericyn or a similar wound spray from the feed store, or clean it and apply some plain Neosporin/Triple Antibiotic Ointment on it twice a day. Walmart sell betadine or povidone iodine in the first aid aisle labeled as Equate First Aid Antiseptic for about $6. A chick chair or sling might be a good way to get the chick up to feed and water it. This link has a lot of pictures of homemade ones and you can put food and water cups in front of them:

This link has info on splinting the femur or thighbone on page 18:
