Brood box upgrade

Our chicks got upgraded to a penthouse tonight. Friends were done with their brood box so we inherited it. Just going to do some minor upgrades, replace the chicken wire with hardware cloth and make a couple access hatches.

They are very lucky! It’s even complete with roosts inside! They haven’t figured out what to do with all the room yet.

Wow that's a pretty nice set up! Though... I wouldn't have it so close to the sofa there. Thinking of chicken dander, all over the fabric... yuck.

In our space it's either behind the couch, or outside on the deck. Next year we will have a bigger house with basement to accommodate the little peepers

It’s great that it also doubles as a little pen for outdoor field trips!
