Hi Everyone!!
We are excited that we have finally started our little feather flock yesterday and then got 2 more chicks today. We've never had chickens and kept waiting until the "right" time to start and figured it was a Great way to start the New Year.
We are only allowed 4 hens so we got 6
and no roosters. We were able to get
Ameraucanas and Rhode Island Reds.
I found the BackYardChickens.com website from my many how to do chicken searches on Pineterest.
We aspire to be an active family but we tend to run out of hours and always have too much to do. We live on the West Coast of Florida so we typically have great weather and try to be out in it as much as we can. We love to go camping, fishing and kayaking. We are active in our community, with our church family and the Royal Rangers program there.
My husband is a First Responder and was very busy during the last Hurricane season especially with Irma.
We used to be owned by a Lab but he left us a few years ago and we haven't been ready to get another dog until recently. We do have 3 cats, some fish , some chickens and are going to be future parents to a Newfoundland as soon as we can get a new fence built and wait for the right puppy!! See, when Hurricane Irma came around our house she REALLY, Really Liked our other fence- so much that she wanted to keep it for herself. The fence will be the next big project and the next build. We hope to get loads of information and advice from you all. Have a Great Start to the New Year!
