Brooder height?

I've read quite a bit on square footage for chicks in brooders, but can't seem to find info on brooder height. How tall should a brooder be? When do they change from cute fuzzy butts to escape artists? Even with a lid/topper, how much aerial space do they need? I'm getting 19 heavies from Ideal the first week of May and am beginning to get new mommy jitters!

Ours is roughly 2' high, 2' wide, 4' long. We built it to use as a rabbit cage originally, then along came the day-old Banty chicks!

Mine's 3 feet tall....


But it's also 4 x 8 feet and I need to crawl into it occasionally.
