For bantams: 2 square feet per chicken in the coop, 6 square feet per chicken in the pen.

I'm afraid I don't have great pics, but here's the pen we built on to the side of our shed coop for ours.

Quote:At 4 weeks, they are starting to get pretty big for a little brooder. I have a clear plastic storage container that I use when they are tiny with a screen and heat lamp over the top. Starting around 4 weeks, I put my chicks out in an empty horse stall out in the barn. When they're big enough, they can be put in with the bigger girls. [IMG] Probably around 8 weeks or so.

Oh- but I should say that I still bring them into the garage at night in a kennel with a heat lamp since they are still too little to be out in the freezing cold.
