Brooder set up

Here's my contribution: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/957712/how-to-hang-a-chick-water-bottle

This thread will tell you how to hang that water bottle, keeping the water clean and prevent any possibility of water spills. Be sure to read down through the thread as it will show you how to center the water bottle so it hangs level.

From the patches of snow on the ground, I'm guessing you're in the US mid-west, but please fill in the location part of your profile so we don't need to be guessing and can give you more relevant advice.

The brooder is beautiful. I'm all for chick decor. But do figure out a cover for the top. Those little rascals will be looking to make a jail break by the end of the second week, if not sooner. I used to stretch cheese cloth over my brooders when I box brooded indoors. Now I brood outdoors in a safe pen in the run, something you might be interested in exploring for future brooding. Look at the link below this post on the subject.

Looks great! might want to add pine shavings as chicks like to dig and forage. i would make sure the heat source is big enough for the whole thing. :)
