A note to those looking to make a brooder, your first plan won't be big enough.... Sadly I learn these things through personal experience

I thought I'd share my homemade brooder with everyone. I'll post Pics as soon as I get a chance, but anyhow it's a set of drawers that you can get at Wall-Mart the stackable kind with clear drawers. I cut 2 vent holes in the sides about 2" x 6" and used hot glue to put 1/4" hardware wire in. I then drilled a hole in the back for a light fixture which holds a 40 watt bulb. Mine right now is a 6 drawer so i can seperate each breed, seems to work good so far

here are the pics of mine...
the long side opens up on hinges for cleaning
it is about 3' wide X 5' long and about 4' high
I put it up on legs so that it is up off the cold basement floor, I have a blue tarp covering the base so that its east to clean (gonna change that this year though)
