Broodie Hen forgetting which nest she was sitting on

I have a hen who has been sitting for 2 1/2 weeks. 3 times now, I have gone in there and she is sitting in the lay box 'next door' and no one is on her eggs. I've been putting her back on her nest, but is there any chance for these eggs to hatch? I have no idea how long they were unattended each time....

your not out of luck yet so don't give up. I have had this happen with a couple hens and still had succesful hatches, at least the weather is not cold yet which will help cause it actually does a little good to have a cooling off period once in awhile as long as its not a real long period.

the trick is to keep the other eggs collected as often as possible so she won't get confused on which nest to get back on after she eats.
