Well I just went out there to shoot some pictures, so I picked up some more eggs.. EVERY single one I picked up was pecking at the wall and one was almost pipped (see pic of egg below)

This mama is gonna have her hands full, she will at least have 10 babies and almost a 100% garuntee there will be more than that.

Taking my kids to their class! When we return, we expect a few chicks..
Broody got up to eat and we saw at least 4 or 5 eggs that had pipped!!!
OMg!!! I wish we didn't have to go, but it is probably best as we would be glued to the cage if we were here.

Will post again later today!!!!

why are we moving broodies? Do I need to do that? Mine has been sitting forever, but the first eggs didnt work out. I think she had about a week to 10 days on the next batch. I didnt move her though. She's in a box in a pen with 3 BO hens and a BO roo. They dont bother her. Does she need to be moved? This is my first broody as well.

I get off of work at 1pm. I should have 5 chicks under my broody when I get home today hopefully. This has been a very long 3 weeks.

If the others aren't bothering her, I wouldn't move her. I moved mine because the others were barging in to lay eggs where she was setting, and breaking the eggs she was on.

A side note... moving her didn't work. I had her in a wire kennel, put the eggs in a cardboard box with wood shavings, and she refused to sit on it. The eggs froze overnight. The next morning, there was one broken in the box, and I let her out and she promptly hopped back up into her favorite nest box. I've got to figure out something else before I get my silkie eggs for her.
