FOUR MORE DAYS for my broody

shes been a good mommy, getting off the nest once a day for eating,drinking and pooping.

the few eggs I've candled deffenatly have babies!

Okay maybe, just maybe this turkey hen has calmed down and decided to stick it out. I took most of the turkey eggs away when it appeared she broke up, but now she's sitting in there pretty determined, and hissing. LOL.

I've fed her there this morning and she took back and tucked in all the turkey eggs I salvaged when she left the nest.

What do I do about all the other hens laying in the same spot and the eggs she'll lay? She stops laying here at some point, now that she's settled down, right?

That she decided the hen house was her place is fairly inconvenient since I got her as a nearly mature bird and she's less than tame.

I really don't want to break her up, I don't have a second incubator. And these eggs are on day 13.

this morning, while momma was turning her eggs (probly for them last time as shes got 4 more days, she was quietly clucking to herself, maybe to the babies?? I didn't think they did that til hatch day?

My cochins cluck quietly to themselves all the time while they are sitting (so far)

One of the three frizzles who was sharing a nest gave up after two weeks. She is spending sometime on the nest but more than 50 % of the day is spent outside. She went two weeks before giving up. I think its because the two other frizzles keep reaching under her and taking her share of the eggs.

Heck it was in the 70's for the first time in months these last two days. She probably is thinking they're the stupid ones for sitting...

I have a Q. Ok yeasterday when i wnet to go let my broody Pearl out I seen that she ate a nother egg!!!! She ate one way in the beging like on da 3 or 4. And yesterday was day 16! She did not eat much of the shell just all of what was inside! And I think there was a baby in it ciz there was blood on the left over shell. So will she eat her babys? Is she going to be a goor mom? Do i take the babys a way from her if she isnt? HELP! But on the goo side she has been a good broody! And she has 4 day to go!!! YEAH! Thanks for the help!

I would watch her because it sounds like she may turn egg eater, or may harm her babies, I don't know

I am wondering if like she stepped on it and then seen that it had stuff in it. And the first one she ate had no baby in it. And she hates me! LOL when I try and give her food and water she is all like OMGOSH get away!!! lol I hope she is a good first time mommy! Pls

My broody Molly kicked an egg out of the nest thismorning, it was cracked and she knew it I guess. That was kinda neat. I had heard they would but it was neat to see it.

Also, I have anothe hen acting like she is thinking about it, she has been sitting all morning, and then just now she got in with Molly, who was not to happy about it!!

So I guess I am going to have to go outside today and fence her in there so the others will leave her alone! She also had three more eggs in there then she did, so someone is laying with her.
