Broodies

Hi all , I have a variety of hens and hope some will go broody and hatch out some eggs and would like to know which ones have a better chance than others. Here’s what I have. 2 Isa brown hybrids , 1 Amber star, 2 bluebells , 2 cuckoo Marans ,2 Rir ,3 light Sussex, 1 buff Sussex , 1 buff orp , and a Buff Silkie bantam.

What, in your opinion are the best breed for broodys and what breeds have you had the most experience in that field!! Thanks for reading !!

I've read that silkies are insanely broody.

Your orp and your silkie are probably your two best bets.

If I were specifically looking for broodies, I would go get some bantam cochins.

My light sussex's have been super broody, one wasn't any good as a mother, but then neither was my silkie!
