Broodiness tips?

That’s
You can leave real eggs in there, but you risk them going bad. Ew.
why I’d theoretically only leave them for a week, so either they go broody or I take the eggs and they’re still ok.

A week is kind of a long time, but if you feel confident it won't be a problem, you can try it.

The weather is fair so that won’t be a problem, and this particular pen likes to scatter eggs so I’m not sure about that. Still pretty confident though.

I'm sorry...

Broody hens will get off the nest for a while to eat, drink, etc and then go back to being broody.
After waiting a week, I can confidently say one of my turkey’s is broody! :wee
Unfortunately, besides turkey eggs, 2 chicken eggs ended up under her, at the same start time as the turkey eggs, so unfortunately those had to go since they wouldn’t hatch at the same time they had to go. Besides that, she’s doing a good job so far. I added a couple chicken eggs, since it’s been a week and the hatch dates will match up now. I’ll update when we have babies!
