Last year, we built a duck house that is about 8x10 with a fenced in area for our call ducks. We recently added a smaller housing unit for our drakes, and keep males and females separated for the most part. We did allow one male in with the mature females in the hopes of fertile eggs. We had been incubating in our house with a twenty egg incubator.

Finally, one of the females started a nest behind the feed bin. She has been sitting on 6 eggs for two weeks, so I am watching the calendar and counting down the days with excitement. However, I am concerned about our other females harming the ducklings. Should I find alternate housing for the other females during hatching. If so...how long after? I truly appreciate your help and expertise in advance! Adriane
