Yes! It has been an experience for sure! They really love digging around in the hemp bedding, and I love being able to get in and sit with them! So far there's zero dust and zero smell (I have an air purifier running 24/7 in the room as well). I do plan to add another layer of hemp bedding soon (I guess I'm trying a sort of 'deep bedding method' in there, to see if I can avoid having to change out the bedding before they go out to their coop). I love a good experiment!
The tent is a great idea!!!This morning, in the tent: The Buff Orp chicks are getting lots of *big girl* wing feathers...the Barred Rocks, not so much, lol. They wake up, get lots to drink and eat, then stop by my lap for a visit (I sit on an old, folded up yoga mat that I bring in and take out - sitting on the hemp isn't super comfy).

I like it. However, the chicks have preferred the round green one (I assume because it's open and the food is more visible). The Renta-a-Coop feeder says it's for chicks 3 days old all the way up to adult, but my babies are taking a while to get used to it. I plan to use a similar style feeder once they're in the coop, so I'm trying to get them used to it early! Anyway, they're finally getting the hang of it now (after a few days of having both feeders in the tent). I just removed the green feeder completely yesterday, so they HAVE to use the bucket feeder now. So far, no complaints.
Keep me posted about how they like it when they get a little older. And if it works well with how the food drops to become accessible. Iāve heard they donāt allow the food to drop sometimes so they donāt know itās there.I like it. I'll definitely keep you updated! So far it's working as it should, but it's only been about a day and they have been kicking hemp bits into the holes, so I have to clean them out to get to the food. Once they're a bit bigger, I can raise the feeder off the ground a few inches, and keep rising it until they're adult size, and that should (hopefully) prevent them from kicking stuff into it, lol!
