Broody abandoned babies. Current mom available

I have a hen in her own broody house and mini run within my main run. She has 6 babies currently about 1 week old.

My second broody abandoned her one day old clutch of 6. Can I give them to my hen to raise with the first 6 or keep them inside?

Given the age difference and the number of total chicks, I wouldn’t even try to give them to her. I think you’ll have to brood them.

Do you have a brooder set up and ready to go? It’s always a good idea to have one ready just in case mom doesn’t follow through.

I do I had it all set up as a just in case. They are inside and doing fine. Just would have been easier if that hen did her job.

It would have been easier, yes. But some hens don't really make good moms. Was this her first time? How old is she? First time broodies can be unpredictable, particularly when they are young. I don't let mine sit until they are at least a year old, and I keep a close eye. And if I have a hen that does stuff like this (they may get a 2nd try, but not more than that if #2 doesn't go well either) , I don't let her brood anymore.
