Hi everyone! :frow My 6 month old pullet, Blackberry, an Ayam Cemani, is broody. She has been on the nest for two days, only coming off of the nest once a day to eat. She has been laying almost two months now.

She is a very feisty broody. Every chicken that comes near usually gets attacked, or screamed at one  And that goes for me if I get too close. So, my question is: Do you think that she would be a reliable broody? Have any of you all ever had any experience with a broody Ayam Cemani?
Thanks in advance! :)

Cemanis are great mothers :)

Here is Blackberry :) I let my chickens out to range this morning, and Blackberry came out to eat. I haven't checked if she has gotten back on the nest yet.

She is gorgeous! :love

If she is committed and you want her to raise chicks, go for it... they are extremely good mothers, and very protective... do be careful of other birds around her once she does have chicks, she will defend them fiercely...

Thank you! :D

It is really cold here, so I don't know if I will give her chicks or eggs right now. But I am certainly excited about doing so in the near future! Yes, I believe that she will! She has been on the nest all day long :)
