My broody girls Ruby and Betty are driving me nuts. It has been over 3 weeks now and they continue to stay hot. Ive done broody jail which they definately object to especially Betty. She gets very frustrated in there. I lock them out of the chicken house every day so they can not go inside and brood in the straw. They have a free run of the whole garden. They eat and they drink and they brood . Will this broodiness go away by itself in time and is it normal for them to remain broody for long periods sometimes?
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
