Hi guys and gals. Been a while since I have had a question for the pros but boy am I in a frustrating, and tiresome pickle.
My golden laced polish girl who's about 18 mo old has gone broody. It's so rare in polish but she's done it. Here's the problem. I am in a heat wave. She go's up there lays down on the nest and cooks her self. I mean It can get warm in the egg box when it's 105 degrees out. So the last two days I have grabbed her and brought her into a crate inside. She barely drinks barely eats. Today when I grabbed her out she was basically half de@d. She breathing so fast I could hear it. Couldn't lift her head. Over heated. She so I brought her in again hydrated her and she joined the flock and seemed normal and began grazing. This morning once again she's up there and not letting the others in. How do I get her to stop. Only because it's dangerous for her to go up there in 105 degrees for all day and not drink. Thank you!
