Broody hen eating her own eggs?

I agree on the camera. Trailcams have become my best friends with poultry and predation issues!

I guess I will have to go back to incubating them, I have good success rate doing that.

I did have barn cameras, but a storm blew them all out so I have nothing now  :-(  The electric company takes no responsibility.

get a battery powered trail cam. It will take pics or video whenever it detects movement and you can watch it the next morning

Yep, no snakes getting into an incubator

However, that is sad .. watching a mumma hen raise her chicks is such a wonderful thing

Thanks, I was so forward to seeing that. It looks like one maybe trying to hatch...surely a snake wouldn't eat a new chick coming out

Sadly, a snake will take a freshly hatched chick out from under a broody the same as he would an egg.

I just went out there and one little one was out )))) When a human mama gets mad to protect another mama...I fixed it. I will upload pics on what I did
