Broody hen how to find baby chicks or eggs

One of my lovely ladies has gone broody. We have no roosters so how do you go about finding fertile eggs or baby chicks for my sweetheart?

Look on your local craigslist. Check for fertilized eggs. Or post an ISO.

You can order day old chicks from a hatchery, or you can try and find someone local with fertile hatching eggs, or you could order fertile eggs from a breeder.

She is on all 9 eggs and will let you get them. But she will not leave and yells at the other ladies if they cone near the nesting box she is in.

Not sure what stores are around you, but local to me Tractor Supply is doing their Chick Days. My yr old hen went broody and wouldnt leave the nest for weeks, even tried the wire crate method, she'd be good for a day or two then back to the box. Got her a couple chicks from Tractor Supply, snuck them in at night and its a beautiful thing to see her so happy with her babies

I had the same thing happened, so I bought some eggs from a breeder. Got them from eBay. All the eggs are developing! I put just two under my broody silkie, and 5 in the incubator. Lockdown starts tomorrow. The broody hen has been very faithful to the eggs.
