Broody Hen Off Eggs In The Middle Of Winter! No Incubator! Please help!

I went downstairs to ask them,I didn''t really get the chance as they're going to have a shower, but I told them she had abandoned the eggs. The response was very unhelpful; "They're only five days old, it doesn't matter that much. Great. I'll ask about the bator when they get back, in the meantime I'll bring the eggs inside where it is warm.

I don't have a lamp, can I just run a bulb connected to the wire into the cooler? I'll need stepdad's help for that. I'm going to get the eggs BRB.

Sure...bring them in.
put then in a box under a lamp.

Do you have plain dry rice?
You could fill a sock and microwave it for a minute.
Put that in the ice chest thing next to, not touching the eggs and leave it be.

You have to think/act quick.
I don't think chicken eggs do too well when they get cold in the middle of incubation.

You DO NOT want to over heat them either though so unless you have a good thermometer you will not know what is too hot or too cold.
Too hot will kill them for sure.

Update: The nest is(was) in the nest box that all of the hens lay in, so I went to get the eggs only to find a very angry bantam cross on the nest. She screamed as I approached so I decided to leave her be. I don't think she is broody(probably just laying her daily egg), but she'll keep the eggs warm until I can think of something.

I am very stubborn and don't mean to offend anyone, but I will do everything in my power to make sure these eggs stay alive. I'll try ask on facebook if anyone has a broody hen that might hatch them. It's a long shot, but it's worth a try.

My parents are pretty stressed at the moment, so I'm really hoping that they were just in a hurry when they gave me that answer :/ Thanks for the help, I'll keep you posted.

You do have your own body heat, if you want to go that far.

I've asked on Facebook if anyone has an incubator or a broody hen, hoping for a response soon. Not sure if parents will appreciate me going so far for unhatched chicks, but my mom is a softie.

She might be, I don't know though... Fingers crossed.

If you're intent on it, the human body is warm enough to incubate eggs.

Okay, bantam left the nest. Call me crazy, but the eggs are in my bra, at least until I can find a better way to incubate. Asked on Facebook, party guests are arriving now, I'll go make a hot water bottle to try and warm them.

This is crazy and a bad idea, but I have to try...
