Broody hen questions.

I’m ok with her hatching, I just want to be prepared. :old

We probably won’t keep any of the chicks anyways, we already have enough and we don’t want them mating with the parents. :hmm
If you don't want chicks, and don't have anyone who wants them all(including the ~50% males)then best not to let her set.
Parent/offspring breeding is not a terrible thing, quite common with poultry.
 
So as long as I don’t hatch those eggs I’ll be fine?

I heard it messes up the genetics and can cause a lot of problems with the chicks and they can have deformities. :hmm
The reason not to hatch is because you don't really want more chicks.

'Inbreeding' does not affect birds the same way it affects mammals.
Parent/offspring breeding is often used to bring out desirable traits in birds.
I can't explain it fully....but if you do some research you'll learn all about it.
