That being said, I will start building a broody ‘pen’, just to have it on hand.

I’m ok with her hatching, I just want to be prepared.

We probably won’t keep any of the chicks anyways, we already have enough and we don’t want them mating with the parents.

If you don't want chicks, and don't have anyone who wants them all(including the ~50% males)then best not to let her set.
Parent/offspring breeding is not a terrible thing, quite common with poultry.

So as long as I don’t hatch those eggs I’ll be fine?

I heard it messes up the genetics and can cause a lot of problems with the chicks and they can have deformities.

The reason not to hatch is because you don't really want more chicks.

'Inbreeding' does not affect birds the same way it affects mammals.
Parent/offspring breeding is often used to bring out desirable traits in birds.
I can't explain it fully....but if you do some research you'll learn all about it.
