Broody Hen Thread!

So far 4 little chicks. I'm so excited !!

Aaaah everyone's baby picks are making me so antsy. My girls are due tomorrow and I went out to check on her this morning and 4 eggs were pushed out. I candled and one was fine but 3 were iffy. I put them back since they are due tomorrow but I'm nervous about them now. She's in a smaller broody coop but the nest area is bigger (from a 10"x10" nest box to a 1'x10" nest box with the brooder run attached) and she moved them last night from one corner of the nest to the other and left a few behind in the darkness.

here's to hoping they make it.

Sambi watch for babies today!! Mine hatched a day early!! I was so surprised to see 3 pips at once and the next time!! I am gonna try add a video of them!

Aaaaaah I keep trying to distract myself, but more often than not I'm out there just staring at her through a little opening waiting to hear peeping. Can you make time go faster please and thank you lol.

What would you do? Got twelve shipped eggs today? Most on first candle had decent looking air cells. One had a pretty slushy air cell. I have a broody. Thought I would put three under her and nine in the incubator. But I could put all under her or all in incubator till
lockdown. If I split them would you put the best looking air cells under the broody? How important do you think it is to incubate shipped eggs standing up rather than lying down?

That's a look only a mother could give. I'm scared just looking at this pic.

after being broody for 5weeks we finally gave in and gave her fertile eggs lol she was sitting on plastics and kicked them out and now im worried she'll do the same with the real ones so im gonna be checking her every afternoon im very paranoid lol!

Those kind of broodies r the best. None of my broodies peck at me. 2 Cochin bantams who have been sitting for almost 2 weeks and 1 BO who has been broody for 2 months and I finally managed to get eggs for her!! This line of Cochins must be broody as they both went broody the same day and now my standard Cochin is starting to cluck like she is going to start sitting!!!

Current broody in the new broody apartment. Nest box is 14" wide and Goldie is serious in her 2nd week! She is kind enough to let me touch her and with her last clutch I could reach right under her to see the chicks. When I sold her chicks at about 4 weeks old the buyer commented on how momma didn't attack me and was so trusting. Her chicks were fully feathered so I think she was even ready for single life again:)
my broody lets me pet her and everything the other one hates me also my broody hen is SUPER slim how can i get her to put on some weight becuase im worried she was slimer than the other hen(s) but now its REALLY bad shes sitting on eggs though to (shes been broody for 5 weeks)
