they are the only two hens in that coop. My others have a bigger standard size coop. As I will be adding a bantam Roo but want to hatch pure breed eventually . Sounds like I should just watch and see how it goes. Unless someone has a different experance.Mine hatch in the pens, along with the other broodies, the non broodies, and the rooster. I haven't had any problems. I have even seen my d'uccle rooster covering chicks while the mommies were foraging
How cute to have a Roo take over mommas spot for a bit.
i just love little chicks lol its to cold at the moment and after being broody for ages we FINALLY put eggs under her - she set on them for 2 weeks and got off that is sooooooo typical good thing we had a back up incubator - we have 8 in there hatching on the 14th of may and because its cold we will use a heat lamp and a box so fingers crossed
