When my serama's eggs didn't hatch I gave her three EE eggs. Unfortunately the first chick to hatch and become active lifted the 10 ounce broody so high she was unable to keep the other two eggs warm. I found the second egg that had pipped cool to the touch and the chick inside nearly dead. We tried an assisted hatch but too late. The third egg had not pipped yet so just in case...I put the egg under another broody hen. It hatched the next day and was returned to the original foster mom. Just a few days old now, the serama is having a hard time brooding the chicks. A heat lamp is now nearby.
