Broody Hen

Ok I really have a broody hen, wont leave the nest, feathers sticking all up, building the nest up with her own feathers etc, and she is on the nest the majority of the ladies like to use to lay their eggs!

So I have a nice size wire cage set up and am ready to put her in it with just food and water. Any advice, how many days will it take etc? Anything else I should do? We don't have a rooster - although I thought about it - but that is another story.

Thanks to all I don't know how I could raise chickens without this website! It sure is helpful.

It might take a couple days to get the broodyness out of her. Best of luck.

I've heard people here say that it took anywhere from 2 days to just over a week. But, remember, the chicken doesn't read the forum so she may not know any of that and do her own thing!
