my little silkie has gone broody she had an egg hatch we resently lost the baby chick which stayed with her don't no how it happened but she went right back to sitting on eggs that are not fertilized we thought about getting more recently hatched chicks to help with the void looking for some advice on if this is the right thing to do in getting more chicks and add to our small flock please help Thank you in advance

Well, you can use some ceramic 'dummy eggs' and put those under her until the 21 days are up. After that you can sneak some chicks under her in the middle of the night.
It is important to know the day she started sitting again. Do you know it?

Get some chicks, probably need to be young ones, and sneak them under her at night. Make sure it is dark. She will wake up in the morning and think her eggs hatched! I don't think you have to wait another twenty one days. I don't think chickens are that smart.....
