Keep in mind too that if they have access, other hens will try to lay eggs in her nest which could break some. Mark the fertilized eggs with a sharpie and the date so you can tell them apart.

Yes that trueIf she is truly broody, she will not leave, she will stay on the nest.
Like I said, she is probably starting/thinking about going broody. Do not give her eggs until she is 100% committed to sitting.however she is back to her nest
