i have a hen who is sitting on an empty nest . I had a fake egg in the nest to encourage my girls to lay there. And they do but One of my hens started to sit all day and not leave the nest. So I removed the fake egg and Each day I take her off the nest and each night I find her there again. The nest is in my barn but the coop is seperate. They have free range in my yard all day. So the other girls go to the coop at night, but little hen will be hunkered down on the nest all alone and in her trance. Should I worry about this ? Can I buy a few fertilized eggs for her to sit on? ( I don't have a rooster). I need advice.

You have 3 options- 1. Get her fertile eggs to sit on (depending on the weather it's not the greatest time of year for this, but I have no idea where you're located).
2. Break her by putting her in a wire cage with no bedding to discourage her,
or 3. Let her break by herself which is not generally healthy for the hen.
Don't be worried if you never see her off the nest. She's most likely getting off while you aren't looking.
