I was hoping to see some set ups people have for their broodies to incubate eggs and where they then house the hen to raise the chicks. I have been using cardboard boxes to house brooding hens then moving the to cages roughly 1.5m by 1.5m when the chicks hatch. I moved them out of their yards to house them in a woodshed with food and water, that way I know what eggs they have been set on. That has been working okay except one hen refused to leave the nest and perished and the cages gaps are big enough for chicks to get out. Any ideas would be appreciated.
