From transferring them to the kennel to avoid thier overly curious flockmates, at least 4 more have pipped, so I should be seeing at least 4 more this afternoon, plus more hatching in 2 days.

Well, an update on our flock. The first broody is still broody and she has 3 sisters join her. So all my next boxes are full of broodies.

I have chicks coming on the 10 so they will soon be unbroody to raise them. We have been collecting eggs under the broodies and non have broken. Now I just have to see legs bands so we keep them instead of culling them out. I will expect them to hatch out eggs later this year when new cockerals grow up. I got this clor on the breed for it is know to be broody. Guess I made the right choice.

I know i keep on peeking!! Shes on the ground now with her 5.. theres one egg left so i putt it into the incubator with my 9 turkey eggs... Shes doing very well!

I put myself on lockdown.
I am literally sitting on my hands to keep from going out and checking. The new momma hen is REALLY spastic and super protective, (good) so I'm leaving her alone and her momma Speckle, who just managed to get an egg to hatch on day 19, that peeper is currently snuggling under her right now.

I have grandchicks!!!!

We have 6 peepers now that are out of the eggs, and are in rest stages or drying, dried off or are in good health. We have had 2 losses so far, one that was ok until out of the egg, and then just was just too little and got crushed by the new mom, and the other was too soon out of the egg and died before all of the blood vessels were stopped in the egg.

Everyone else is looking really, really good and the new mom, Maranatha, is being amazingly good and super protective now that she isn't so nervous about all of that movement under her. I try to check the chicks out, I am going to draw back a nub and she is supoer careful of her little ones!

I'm trying to breathe throught this first chick wave with multiple broodies, now with the next hatch, it won't be so many but the last one, oh wow...it will be huge, praying that lots of babies will be hatched from that one!!
