Broody or egg bound??

Update on my Miss Broody: still brooding!! I have ordered a few marans eggs for her, I was wanting more of those anyway so thought I would give it a try. In the meantime, she has changed nesting boxes, is sitting on another hens egg, so I have just left it under her for now. She is so funny, how stubborn she is!! But I couldn't bear to force her out or put her in water, I'm just leaving her be. Hopefully she'll still be there when the eggs get here. They don't have too far to come, so should get Wed or Thurs, being PO closed Mon.

I wouldn't dunk anyone in water in the winter. It's much more effective anyway to either block off the boxes (depending on how determined they are) or put it in a wire bottom cage up off the ground till they aren't broody any more. (edit: only takes a few days) But I know what you mean. I hate to even do that.
