Broody pekin

Hey everyone, so I just have a few ducks and one of my females has gone broody and is very committed to laying on her eggs. Unfortunately, I don’t want babies right now so, unbeknownst to my duck, she is laying on some golf balls. I just wanted to know if it’s better to give her nothing to lay on so she’ll give up or if I should just let her keep sitting on the golf balls? I’m just worried she’ll be sad when none of her “eggs” hatch. I know this probably sounds like a dumb question but I just feel bad for her.

She will likely continue to nest on the golf balls if you do not remove all of them and destroy her nest. Expect her to be a little frustrated after removing the nest, but she should calm down after a few hours/day.
