Broody tom?

why would my tom go broody and sit on a nest? he has been sitting on it for about 4 or 5 days

I have had it happen with penned turkeys. They will do a good job until week 2 or 3 and then he will start to crush them. Too big and heavy for the eggs.

Is there anyway i can get him to stop? he is now sitting on an empty nest...i dont understand...how do i make him stop?!?!

My tom would do that last year. I figured it was so he could keep the girls away from the nest and get some more lovin. This year once the hens start laying good I will separate him.
