Wow that's awesome to see her being a meat turkey and broody what kind is she exactly?

Her breed is a broad-breasted white that we bought at the local feed store last year. She grew quickly but has leveled out and has been a wonderful pet.

She expects everyone to pet her when she's outside in the yard and will follow you around like a dog. :) Hopefully she'll make a good mama to some chicken chicks, and not crush them, lol.

As long as she stays a good size and doesn't grow too large for her own legs to support her (which happens to a lot of commercial breeds if they're not slaughtered) then we'll continue to keep her as a family pet.

That's awesome and thats the breed I thought she was that's real rare in a broad breasted or any meat bird but anything can come back to them I can't wait to see her as mommy keep us posted

Yes! I will definitely keep you posted! The hatch date is a week from today, I believe.

She was raised with 13 chickens, all purchased at the same time and the same age (a day old). I'm not sure if raising them together is what prompted her to become more 'natural' and less 'commercial' and having her think she's a chicken? Either way, we don't mind; she's great to have around, very very sweet! We named her Gretchen, lol. Random but it fits her for some reason. :)

I'll send updates as I have them!

I'm still waiting for fertile Turkey eggs so I can start raising them!! Got my name out with a few folks in my area so hopefully the turkeys will start doing there job and I'll get to incubate some eggs within the next few months!

My usually sweet Turkey, Lurkey has gone broody. She wont let me get the eggs and she hisses at me if I try to collect them. I am a bit afraid of her!

She looks like a royal palm,if you don't want her to have babies than get gloves on and move her and take the eggs. Or just let her be a mommy hen and we could all see her with her babies up to you
