Broody?

Thanks, @aart ! I’m sure I’ll need it. I’m happy for the warmer weather (-2 Wednesday, 56 tomorrow) because it sounds like a cold process.
It's been warmer here too....it's kinda nice...very few freezing temps during the days.

She let me take the single egg beneath her, and ate some of the mash I brought her.
I'd pull her right off the nest, do not feed her on the nest. Sometimes you can break then just by tossing them off the nest a few times a day.

I took her off and set her in the snow! Also pulled her off repeatedly for a little while, then settled on putting an ice pack in the nest while I hit up friends for a crate.

Thanks again! She ate ravenously when she first came out and made 3 big poops!

Read a good trick of putting ice cubes in a flat tupperware to set in the nest...keeps nest cold but dry. Tho if you have other birds that need to lay....might not be the best idea.

Yes. They all use the same nest. I did find another girl climbing all over Broody Buffy. I added a bit of fresh hay to the other nest. Maybe I’ll put the eggs in that one.

Slow to catch on, pancake on the snow. Sorry it’s sideways!
