I would like some help with this issue!
We have what are suppose to be a Penedesenca pullet pair about 4 1/2 months old
but one has white ear lobes and the other has red, so I'm thinking one is a Welsummer and the other is maybe a Brown Leghorn????
What do you think?

I would say Brown leghorn or Penedesenca. Leaning towards the latter because of leg colour. I would like to know too! (:

Hi,
Thank you very much for your opinions! That's interesting, so you are thinking that they both are Penedesencas then? The different ear color is making me nervous. I've always wanted this breed and finally found some and paid a pretty penny for this pair. I don't think I've ever spent as much on even a small starter flock of four! :o

As far as I know there isn't a breed standard for Penedesencas in this country. The birds I've seen are usually slim, have tails carried very high or even crossing the perpendicular have some trace of crescentic penciling in the plumage, and have white ear lobes. So yours aren't typical examples, but the main thing about this breed is the dark eggs, so if you get those then you know you've got Penedesencas. Yours do have the right leg color.

This. Plus, hatchery birds are "breed representative", in general. Sometimes, they are pretty close. Others, not so much.

my avatar is my best hen, though she died last year. I was not sure of her age as she was a "hen" when I got her. Looking for for chicks now and not finding any. Anyone have some? I need some pullets and cockerels.
