Brown Sussex genetics

All I know is that someone did something to his Cheerios that morning. He went from giving help and information on breeding to slamming me on trying to do something good and create a breed we don't have. No they are not recognized by an association here or anything but I like them and have some birds lined up to do it. This is no big deal! What people say or think about me or what I want to do is their own problem. No one would have the tooth pick if someone didn't think up a tiny piece of wood to pick their teeth. This is all very silly and pointless. I just hope whatever or whoever started this is done. We are all adults or at least supposed to be, let's act like it. Thank you!

Ok, I missed the bruhaha entriely. I was off the thread for a while and came back to congrat nicalandia on the new Friend badge on this thread because I knew he had been active on it.
I don't quite get the big difference between saving a breed and recreating it As both have the bottom line of keeping a lovely bird available and from extinction.
Sorry if anyone was offended.
Best,
Karen

I am very sorry if I came up as negative or discouraging, most people that know me here would say I am too strait to the point and that I work mostly like a machine, giving genetic codes and outcomes of possible outcome on prospect breeding pairing, most of the time I fail to see any attachment on the subject, I have high functioning Asperger syndrome.

I wish you the best of luck on your endeavour

Off topic but I need a genetics codes and outcomes machine for some info.
What do you know about the leghorn exchequer pattern genetics?
Thanks

Exchequer Leghorns are based on autosomal recessive mottling(mo/mo) that have been bred to look that way.

Carefoot(1987b) Confirmed this by crossing an Exchequer Leghorn rooster with an Ancona Female, All of the F1 Progeny were intermediate between Exchequer and Mottled patter.

This is not surpricing to me as Mottling is a pattern that lends itself to be bred to be almost white to almost black with white speckled and any combination in between

Is everyone from USA on this thread? I’m based in the UK and am breeding Brussbar in large fowl, as well as hatching some brown Sussex in large fowl.

Hi, I am the one wanting to raise both breeds. I am located in the USA. It's very unfortunate that we do not have those breeds here. They are both beautiful breeds.
