BSL First Egg No Shell. Normal?

I just had the same thing happen with my Red Sex Link, except she's about 4 1/2 months. 1 Rhode Island and 1 Ameracauna also started laying within the last 10 days, same age, hard shells. I didn't expect to see any eggs until fall. The RSL was standing on a planter and laid the egg on the lawn and all of the other hens immediately rushed and ate the egg. Now I'm worried because I have read that if they eat raw eggs they will crack their eggs to eat them. Has anyone experienced this? They've left their other eggs alone.
